I'm Ingrid Gomm and today I want to share with you my experience with the series Blue-Eyed Samurai , available on Netflix. Visually impressive and narratively rich, the series is set in feudal Japan and follows Mizu, a young samurai on a quest for revenge. With intense action scenes, the plot addresses themes such as identity, oppression and female resilience.
Mizu, forged in adversity since childhood, is a remarkable protagonist. Under the guise of a man, she defies gender norms and survives in a world dominated by men, confronting the restrictive role of women in society at the time. The script also addresses the complexities of other female characters, such as Akemi, who defies social conventions in a tragic way, highlighting the injustices imposed by the patriarchy. These nuances make the series a powerful example of female protagonism in animation.
Visually, Blue-Eyed Samurai combines traditional 2D animation techniques with graphic innovations, creating a cinematic universe that is both nostalgic and innovative. The fight scenes, based on real choreography, and the immersive soundtrack enrich the experience, elevating the work to an impressive technical level.
The series has the complete package, and I have to admit: I'm obsessed! It's visually beautiful, engaging, full of action and drama, making the viewer dive deeply into Mizu's journey of revenge. The best part? Everything indicates that we'll have three or even four seasons of this incredible story. I can't wait! Come back soon, Mizu!
